Applied Physics
Studies in acoustics, optics, and energy transfer, with an emphasis on measurement technique and repeatable demonstration.
Curiosity Powers Discovery
Think Lab Industries conducts research in the applied sciences and maintains a long-standing commitment to public science education. Selected findings are published following internal review.
The Laboratory
Think Lab Industries is a privately held research laboratory. Its staff work across the physical sciences, engineering, and instrumentation, with supporting groups in computation, fabrication, and documentation.
The laboratory does not maintain a commercial product line. Work is undertaken on the basis of scientific interest, and results are shared through technical publications, educational partnerships, and community briefings as review schedules permit.
Inquiries regarding current research should be directed to the Office of Public Inquiry. Please note that certain active investigations are not discussed publicly.
Divisions
The laboratory's work is organized into standing divisions. Summaries of selected projects appear in the publications index.
Studies in acoustics, optics, and energy transfer, with an emphasis on measurement technique and repeatable demonstration.
Development and testing of prototype components, from bench models to field-ready instruments, in the laboratory's own shops.
Observation and data collection conducted away from the main facility. Site reports are filed with the documentation group.
A number of active investigations are not described publicly. Summaries are released after internal review.
Notices
The instrumentation group has completed scheduled recalibration of the acoustic test bench. Measurement work postponed during the maintenance window has resumed.
The Education Office is accepting scheduling requests from schools and libraries for the autumn visit season. Requests are handled in the order received.
A long-running materials fatigue study has entered its third internal review cycle. A technical note is expected to follow review, subject to the usual approvals.
The documentation group has begun preparation of the annual public summary. Publication is anticipated in the second half of the year.
Since its founding, the laboratory has held that research carries an obligation to teach. The Education Office maintains classroom partnerships, hosts scheduled visits, and prepares instructional materials for schools and families at no charge.
